Object reference not set error while doing paid verification in emo

Solution:
Please ensure that eMO Account heads are created properly. SubAccount and SupplySubaccount databases are running and correct treasury server name is given while configuration. Ensure that SOcodemapping is done correctly. Ensure that HO Account date and SOaccount dates are entered correctly both in eMO operator and subaccount modules.

POSTMAN - Local articles are showing not sent out for delivery in DET

Solution:
The option "Fetch from Counter" should be used on the day of invoicing these articles to Postman beats. For ex: If you have booked local articles today and you want them to be sent to beats on tomorrow, you should not use the Fetch from Counter option today. This option to be exercised on the next day only.
In such a situation, even if you don’t fetch today, all these local articles will be treated as "Despatched" in DET. Hence please use the Fetch from Counter option on the date of invoicing the articles to postman.

MPs want IT exemption limit hiked to Rs 5 lakh

MPs pressed for raising the income tax exemption limit to Rs 5 lakh per annum.

(PTI): Ahead of the budget, some members of a Parliamentary panel scrutinising the Direct Taxes Code (DTC) Bill today pressed for raising the income tax exemption limit to Rs 5 lakh per annum.
The Standing Committee on Finance, which met under the chairmanship of senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha, has decided to finalise its report by March 2, enabling Parliament to consider the ambitious reforms in direct tax regime.
“The Committee will meet again on February 24 and finalise the report on the DTC Bill by March 2,” sources said.
Some members, they said, “wanted the IT exemption limit to be increased to Rs 5 lakh per annum in view of inflation and erosion in purchasing power of rupee.”
The government is hoping for approval of the DTC Bill by Parliament in the next fiscal. Pending Parliamentary nod, the government may include some of its provisions of the Bill in the budget to be presented on March 16.
The Committee, in its draft report, has suggested that the income tax exemption threshold be enhanced to Rs 3 lakh per annum from Rs 1.8 lakh at present. The Bill proposes the limit of Rs 2 lakh and also provides for revising the tax slabs for all the three categories.
Currently, income of Rs 1.80-5 lakh attracts 10 per cent tax, Rs 5-8 lakh 20 per cent and above Rs 8 lakh, 30 per cent.
It had also proposed retaining the corporate tax rate at the existing 30 per cent.
The DTC, which will replace the Income Tax Act, 1961, was referred to the Standing Committee for scrutiny after introduction in Lok Sabha on August 2, 2010.

Vacancies in DD, AIR to be filled soon

Doordarshan

(PTI): The Information and Broadcasting Minister, Ms Ambika Soni, today said that with the selection of a new Prasar Bharati CEO, vacancies in Doordarshan and All India Radio would be filled and all stations especially those on the border areas will be made functional.
“While maintaining the autonomous structure of Prasar Bharati, I want that issues related to staff resolved because they have been pending for a very long time,” Ms Soni told reporters here.
She was asked about the priority areas of the new Prasar Bharati CEO. Mr Jawhar Sircar, Secretary, Ministry of Culture, has been selected by a panel headed by the Vice-President for the position.
“We have recently formed recruitment rules after forming a recruitment board. We now awaiting DoPT clearances, so wherever there are slots vacant they should be filled urgently,” Ms Soni said.
The Minister said she wants Doordarshan and AIR centres situated in border areas to be made functional.
“I also want that all Doordarshan and Akashvani kendras which are situated on the country’s borders to be activated,” she said.
“More programmes should be generated in local languages and Doordarshan and Akashvani should reflect a picture of the entire country,” she said.
Ms Soni also said that though she had not been able to meet Mr Sircar after he was selected, she had faith in his ability.
“I have not yet been able to meet him. Only yesterday there was an announcement and notification regarding his appointment. He is an experienced IAS officer and was the Secretary Culture,” she noted.
Asked if the absence of a full time CEO had affected the functioning of Prasar Bharati, the Minister said: “It is time to leave the past and move ahead.”
