New Delhi May 10, 2012(PTI): The government today issued orders for transfer of over 300 section officers working in different ministries for more than 16 years, in order to get them accustomed to “challenging situations”.

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has issued a list of 302 section officers along with the details of their new postings vide Order No.6/10/2012-CS-I(S) dated May 10, 2012.Which is placed below for ready reference.
The move is a part of the government’s phase-wise plans to shift Central Secretariat Service (CSS) officers, who have completed their tenure in a particular ministry.
The DoPT has asked the concerned ministries to “immediately relieve” the officers and “no request for retention” shall be entertained.
The Rotational Transfer Policy of CSS officers prescribes a fixed tenure of posting for an officer of the Central Secretariat Service in a particular Ministry or Department.
One of the objectives of the policy is to allow officers gain exposure to various challenging situations at various ministries.
The officers, who are due to superannuate within next two years, have been exempted from the move.
