NEW DELHI: Litigants will no longer have to stand in que to buy stamp papers to file their cases with the Delhi High court today introducing the electronic court fee system under which fee can submitted electronically.

The new feature is an addition to its existing e-court system which is first of its kind in the entire judicial systems in the country.

Launching the e-court fee system, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said "this is a historic step which will bring transparency in the administration of justice. The government would extend its support to make a modern judicial system."

Chief Justice of Delhi High Court D Murugesan said that in a couple of months, litigants can buy stamp paper from the internet at any time beyond the office hours.

"The court fee stamps would be available 24X7 so that filing of cases will be easy. Electronic payment of court fee will be a stepping stone and the system will go a long way to help in disposal of cases," Justice Murugesan said.

Delhi's Minister for Revenue Arvinder Singh and Minister for Law and Justice and Litigation Affairs Ramakant Goswami were also present in the function.
