time government raised retirement age of central government employees
was in 1998-- from 58 to 60 years.

D L Sachdev national secretary of All India Trade Union Congress said
that his union was totally against increase of retirement age beyond 60.
It will hurt the youth especially when the Government is doing nothing
to create jobs for them, Sachdev said. Congress affiliated Indian

that his union had been demanding increase in retirement age to 62 years
and would welcome it.
